Teaching & Interactive Learning Tools

This section presents interactive teaching materials developed by Dr. Shu-Ping Tseng for courses in urban entomology, insect behavior, and insecticide resistance. Designed to support inquiry-based learning, these simulations allow students to explore concepts through virtual experimentation. Feel free to use them for educational purposes; feedback is welcome. For the best experience, please access these tools on a desktop or tablet.

Ebeling Choice Box Simulation

An interactive simulation based on the classic Ebeling choice box paradigm, designed to explore behavioral avoidance, habitat selection, and their effects on insecticide exposure in the German cockroach.

Topical Assay Simulation

Topical Assay Simulation A virtual topical application bioassay designed to compare insecticide sensitivity between susceptible and resistant strains. This tool illustrates how resistance leads to an increase in LD₅₀ values, helping students understand the calculation of Resistance Ratios (RR).
